Representatives of the Bulgarian-American Commission for the Preservation of Bulgaria’s Cultural Heritage participated in an international advanced masterclass in Plovdiv

In December Ivan Vassilev, Chair of the Bilateral Bulgarian-American Commission for the Preservation of Bulgaria’s Cultural Heritage and Todor Petev, member of the Commission, participated in the international advanced masterclass in Plovdiv “Open Science Infrastructures for Big Cultural Data”. The masterclass is organized by the University College London Qatar in collaboration with the Digital Research Infrastructure for the Arts and Humanities – European Research Infrastructure Consortium and the Ivan Vazov National Library. There, they presented some of the preliminary results of the three round tables with experts on the digitization of cultural heritage organized by the Commission in 2018. The presentation provoked active reactions among the participants, highlighting yet again the topicality of the subject and the need to chart a broad and comprehensive view on approaches to heritage digitization in Bulgaria.
