Traci is an assistant professor of Bulgarian-English translation in the English and American Studies Department of Sofia University. She is also an active translator of contemporary Bulgarian literature, as well as a translator for exhibitions and catalogues at several Bulgarian art museums, including the National Gallery, the Kazanlak Art Gallery, the Museum of Humor and Satire in Gabrovo, and the Sofia City Art Gallery. She received her PhD in Slavic Linguistics from the University of California, Berkeley, in 2011, where she focused on South Slavic languages and Balkan Sprachbund linguistics. In 2017 she received a Fulbright research grant to study language attitudes and usage among Turkish speakers in northeastern Bulgaria, which she carried out in Shumen.<\/p>\n
