In 2019-2020, Patrick Harchik graduated from Airborne School in Fort Benning, GA. Airborne school is a three-week course which taught him how to jump out of a plane and parachute to the ground. He jumped out of a plane five times, both during the day and at night, with heavy combat equipment. He also graduated from Infantry Basic Officers Leader Course – a course that trains and develops second lieutenants to become competent and adaptive Infantry Officers, imbued with the Warrior Ethos, and prepared to lead infantry platoons in combat. Patrick also used time in quarantine to deepen his knowledge of the Slavic language family. Through the Army’s specific language proficiency test, he achieved a score of B2 in Bulgarian, C1 in Russian, B1 in Ukrainian and B1 in Slovenian as well.
