On September 12, 2023 at Fukuoka University (Japan) during the 54th Autumn Meeting of the Society of Chemical Engineers of Japan (SCEJ), Prof. Dr. Stoyan Nedeltchev was awarded with the prestigious “2022 Outstanding Paper Award” of “Journal of Chemical Engineering of Japan. This is the second time he has received such an award. The previous one was awarded in 2008. In total, he has published 15 articles in this famous journal and he is the main non-Japanese contributor.

Prof. Dr. Stoyan Nedeltchev has obtained a DEng degree (1999) from Tokyo Institute of Technology (Japan). In addition, he has been a JSPS Postdoctoral Fellow (2002-2004) at the same University. From November, 2018 to February, 2019 Prof. Nedeltchev was an invited lecturer at Tokyo Institute of Technology (Japan). In total, he has spent five and half years at this famous Institution in Japan. He is doing his best to represent Bulgaria in Japan as best he can and to strengthen the scientific cooperation between both countries.

Prof. Nedeltchev has been awarded twice with a Fulbright grant. In the academic year 2001/2022 he performed a postdoctoral research at the Washington University in St. Louis (USA). In the case of the second grant (2009) he spent five months at the University of Pittsburgh (USA). In addition, he has been awarded with a Marie Curie International Fellowship (EU), Humboldt and DAAD Fellowships (Germany), Takase Foundation Scholarship (Japan), etc.

Currently Prof. Dr. Nedeltchev is working at the Institute of Chemical Engineering, Polish Academy of Sciences. He hopes to improve further the scientific relations between Bulgaria and Poland.
