The program supports current secondary-level, full-time teachers of: English, English as a Foreign Language, Bulgarian and other foreign languages, social studies, history, media studies, communications, journalism, global studies, psychology, ethics, philosophy. The candidates need to demonstrate interest in the field of modern media in 21-st century, and to be willing to support their pupils and colleagues.

Excellent English language competence, validated via a TOEFL score for the nominees. At the time of application you may not have a TOEFL score yet, and the English language skills could be demonstrated with other diplomas, certificates or standardized test results. If the candidate has been nominated by Bulgaria, they will get a free voucher for sitting a TOEFL test at their earliest convenience.

The Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement (Fulbright TEA) Program
Media Literacy Cohorts
The grantees take academic seminars at a host university, work in team with their coleagues from other countries and participate in observation and practicum in U.S. secondary schools. The focus is on media literacy, recognizing bias/propaganda, stereotypes, and misinformation; strategies for improving students’ and colleagues’ critical thinking, analytical, and communication skills. The program ends with creating an action-plan on improving media literacy.

This grant is for scholars in the field of Mathematics. Applicants need to have aquired their PhD no longer than 10 years ago.
Prospective Fulbright participants should be aware that public health conditions, availability of consular services and travel, as well as U.S. institutional operating status and policies may affect their ability to travel to the U.S. and participate in academic programs.
