Emily Sargent-Beasley
President of the American College of Sofia, Bulgaria (ACS)
Emily Sargent-Beasley serves as the President of the American College of Sofia, Bulgaria (ACS). Prior to her arrival in Bulgaria, Emily served as the Deputy Head of School/Head of Campus at the Shanghai American School, Shanghai, China. Preceding her travels to China, Emily served as the Assistant Superintendent and, earlier, as the MS Principal at the Walworth Barbour American International School in Israel. Her international career began at the American International School, Chennai, India as the Curriculum Coordinator. Emily began her career as a middle school science and math teacher in a public school in the United States and as a faculty member of the Secondary Education Department at James Madison University’s College of Education in Virginia. In addition to these roles, Emily has served local and regional initiatives. These initiatives include serving on literacy foundations, regional professional development advisory boards, and more tactical task forces charged with short term goals. Emily holds a MA in Education, EdS in Literacy, and is currently a doctoral candidate in International Educational Leadership.
