Prof. Galin Tsokov

Professor Galin Borisov Tsokov, PhD, holds a master’s degree in Pedagogy from Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski and earned his doctorate in Pedagogy in 1998 with a dissertation on “Decentralization in the Structures of Education Management at Local Level – Traditions and Perspectives.” He teaches at the Pedagogical Faculty of Plovdiv University Paisii Hilendarski, where since 2011 he has been a professor of educational management. He has served as director of the Department for Qualification and Professional Development of Pedagogical Specialists at Plovdiv University since 2016 and Head of the Department of Pedagogy and Education Management as of 2019.
He has completed numerous international specializations, including: the UNED University, Madrid (2017); Educational Leadership at the Bank Street College of Education, New York (2014); Specialization in Educational Management CEDEFOP Study Visit 326, Valencia, Spain (2008); and Educational Management with a profile in Organizational Management in Education at the University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands (2002).
Professor Tsokov is a member of the Commission for Innovative Schools at the Ministry of Education (2016) and of the Standing Commission for Pedagogical Sciences and Social Activities of the National Agency for Evaluation and Accreditation (since 2018). He has served as president of the Association of Departments for the Qualification of Pedagogical Specialists in Bulgaria (2022), as well as editor-in-chief of the journal Pedagogika (2019). He has participated as a leader, coordinator and member in more than a dozen international and national scientific and educational projects. He is the author of more than 110 scientific publications published in Bulgaria and abroad.
