Nicole Fox
Public Affairs Officer, US Embassy in Bulgaria
Nicole Fox is a career diplomat who currently serves as the Counselor for Public Affairs at U.S. Embassy Sofia. Prior to arriving in Sofia, she served as the Spokesperson at U.S. Mission Thailand. Her other overseas assignments include Manila, the Philippines; Dhaka, Bangladesh; Harare, Zimbabwe; and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. In Washington, she worked on the China desk and on political and economic issues across the African continent. Prior to joining the U.S. State Department, Nicole worked at Stanford University and as an anthropologist and archaeologist, conducting fieldwork in New Zealand, the Solomon Islands, the Bahamas, India, Peru, and Australia. Originally from Maui, Hawai’i, Nicole received undergraduate degrees in Anthropological Sciences, Archaeology, and Human Biology from Stanford University. She also has a Master’s in Anthropological Sciences from Stanford University and a Master’s in Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. She has studied Spanish, Hawaiian, Vietnamese, Thai and Bulgarian.
