Veronica Elkins

Public Engagement Officer, US Embassy in Bulgaria

Veronica Elkins is the Public Engagement Officer at U.S. Embassy Sofia. She previously served as a press officer in the U.S. State Department’s Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs, a cultural affairs officer at U.S. Embassy Bishkek, and a consular officer at U.S. Embassy Kingston. Prior to joining the foreign service in 2018, she worked as an administrative assistant at the International Monetary Fund, volunteered in the DC public school system through AmeriCorps VISTA, and taught English as a foreign language through the Teaching Assistant Program in France. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Virginia, where she studied English Literature and French. She speaks Bulgarian, Russian, and French and enjoys hiking, running, and reading in her free time.
